Story: The Tunnel

Short shorts are interesting, hey? Micro-fiction. Flash fiction. Whatever you call it.

Going through the archives recently, I found “The Tunnel” with a blue checkmark in the top right corner of the page. Keeper, I guess. But I never did anything with it. Where would it fit?

It could function as the introduction to a story. It has a “set up” quality. But it also feels contained and ends with a sentiment that could signal finality. A contradictory statement, for sure. I won’t quote it here (no spoilers).

With a tunnel you suspect that it goes somewhere, comes from somewhere, but what if it doesn’t? That’s a quandary.

This one is undated, but I suspect it may be from the late 1990s, given the material I found it with. Does it have a millennium spirit? Perhaps the spirit of many millennia.
